2020 UPDATE:

The bad news - every single Sloggi Basic Tanga brief is gone from Deadgoodundies.
The good news - that low rise fit, the snug feel and comfort of cotton male tanga underwear is still easily available at DGU!

nother go-to brand for tanga fans is Modus Vivendi which has perfected the shape in many forms and finishes, including silk, camouflage, mohair and good old cotton. This Greek fashion menswear brand is constantly updating its collection, so there are regular updates. Check out the Modus Vivendi Eggs Tanga Brief (£19.50) which is 93% cotton in glorious classic and spring pastel colours, or treat yourself to luxury gents' underpants with a Modus Vivendi Silk Tanga Brief (£43.00) - this one is 47% silk in black, grey or a sophisticated off white. Another gift for any man who lives in tangas, there's also the Olaf Benz Pearl 1858 Rio Tanga (£26.00) in fine filigree fabric.

HINT from the men's underwear experts at Deadgoodundies.com - don't just search for the word tanga on the website because some brands use different terminology for the same shape. Try "low rise" or just check out briefs with a deep waistband?

There's always a moment of panic when one of DGU's favourite brands announces it's about to discontinue a best seller with a very loyal following

Sloggi have decided there will be no more Sloggi Basic Tanga briefs – but Deadgoodundies' customers don't have to worry, because DGU has bought up the last remaining stock.

"There's enough in our last order to keep Sloggi Basic Tanga fans happy for some time," says website founder Adam Davies. "We will continue, as always, to sell these Sloggi men's briefs in a twinpack containing two black tangas for £17.00. We believe our supplies will last several months, but Deadgoodundies will gradually become the only place left to buy these brilliant gents' underpants."

The Sloggi brand is a cornerstone in the world of men's underwear, especially in online sales with retail specialists like Deadgoodundies.com.

"Some guys will only wear Sloggi men's briefs, and some of them prefer the Sloggi Basic Tanga above all other styles. This is no surprise because the design is wonderful, washable and wearable – and long lasting in 96% cotton and 4% elastane. We have sold the two pack for many years, originally also in white, but that was discontinued a few years ago. So now the black duo is unique," Adam explains.

"So, if you see 'Sloggi Basic Tanga discontinued' anywhere come straight to Deadgoodundies.com because the very last remaining stock will be with us," he adds.
There are of course other Sloggi for Men briefs offered by DGU that might fit the bill for fans of men's mini briefs in stretch cotton. But there are classic alternatives from other brands that Basic Tanga fans might want to test for the sadly inevitable day there are no more… or they fancy an alternative colour micro slip sometime.

Why is Sloggi's Basic Tanga so popular? Full cover and maximum room to manoeuvre – men like the cool, airy feel of a tanga with the super high leg shape. From behind it has the look of a male brief but with a unique shape that's great for suit or sport, gym or rest. The Sloggi Basic Tanga is men's underwear that gents are happy to wear again and again – and again.

HOM's Classic Tanga (£18.00 per pair in white, black, navy or grey) is made from 65% cotton, 22% modal, 13% elastane.

Doreanse has two tanga options, both in 45% cotton, 45% modal, 10% Lycra - the Doreanse 1233 Bikini Brief or the Doreanse 1331 Bikini Brief, each £10.00 a pair in black or white.

Fashion brands like Modus Vivendi, Olaf Benz and Manstore, and anatomical designs from Ergowear and Obviously for Men, also offer the familiar tanga shape – with good pouch and bum cover, and an elastic waistband that also forms the side straps, without any additional fabric – in seasonal collections.

As Adam says: "A tanga can be for sport, leisure or pleasure, in cotton, silky microfibre, plain colours or prints. Our customers like the combination of support and freedom of movement. And this style of brief, especially the Sloggi Basic Tanga, suits everyone, just make sure you buy the right waist size so the fit is snug but doesn't pinch any flesh!"

hom classic tanga brief alternative
