SHOWTIME! DGU'S MAD COWS FAREWELL
Why did we do it? For several years Deadgoodundies.com has sponsored Mad Cow Productions' shows at Theatre Severn here in Shrewsbury. A play, usually a hilarious farce, each Autumn and a musical in Spring.
But why? What's the connection between one of the country's best amateur dramatic companies and underpants? You'd be surprised! There have been invisible undies for actors in flimsy or rather short costumes, sparkly striped boxers for a trouser dropping moment, comfy containment for energetic dance routines… and then there was the Full Monty!!
Deadgoodundies has enjoyed every moment of every show, and all the fun in between during prop selection and fitting sessions. More than that we've been proud to support MCP's work putting totally inexperienced performers through their paces alongside more seasoned talent. Some have gone on to professional careers in theatre, others discovered something special in themselves, more found new confidence through singing, dancing and acting, or working backstage, and it changed their life…
Sadly this week Mad Cow Productions' Lisa Lowarch and Alex Hinton present their final farce – stage October 27-30. The Mad Cows are off to pastures new away from the spotlight.
Don't Dress For Dinner runs at Theatre Severn until Saturday night and we're looking forward to face ache by Sunday – a Mad Cow show is guaranteed to get your pulse racing, smile muscles tired and hands tingling from all the clapping.
