Schultz mens designer underwear

Schulz underwear with its quirky slogan waistbands is designed to complement a revolutionary invention - the Schultz Strap. Although the strap which stops jeans falling down, however low slung you like to wear them, is the height of fashion in the 21st Century, the origins of the Schultz fashion dynasty lie way back in the 19th…
Jyula Schultz started his first shop around 1890 and became the first master tailor to produce clothing for the aristocracy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Jyula’s grandson Otto showed equal talent with cloth, first using it in Budapest in 1948 in a Communist Party factory. But his flare for fashion wasn’t appreciated (the Party Secret blocked his university application because he was ‘more interested in dancing than politics’) and he set up his own business in 1953, going on to invent the first version of the Schulz strap. After the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, Otto left his country, walking with his brother Carl (later a film director in Australia), to the Austrian border, arriving finally as refugees in England. Otto worked as a tailor in Manchester, where his prolific talent meant he was soon making suits for all the city’s top business and entertainment personalities.
By 1958 Otto had saved enough to re-establish his own business, and in the 60s made clothes for London fashion designers and the boutique set up by George Best, Manchester United's first celebrity superstar. Otto's son, Richard, joined the business and became head designer for their own label as well as designing and making for some of the biggest fashion retailers. These included the likes of Next, Top Shop and Burton until Far East imports which swamped the market in the 90s forced Otto and Richard to close their UK factories (the underwear is now made in Portugal). Otto continued in bespoke tailoring until in 2007, when he reworked his invention for jeans and with Richard started Schultz Jeans.
